What We Do

Therapy Lessons

At our therapeutic riding program, we offer riding lessons that are specifically designed to benefit individuals with physical, emotional, and cognitive disabilities. Our trained instructors work with each rider to create an individualized lesson plan that addresses their unique needs and goals.

Our lessons are conducted in a safe and supportive environment, with specially trained horses and volunteers who assist with mounting, dismounting, and leading the horse. Our riders learn basic riding skills, such as how to balance and steer, and have the opportunity to grow through our program.

In addition to physical benefits like improved balance, coordination, and muscle strength, therapeutic riding has been shown to provide emotional and cognitive benefits as well. Riders often experience increased self-esteem, confidence, and a sense of independence. They may also develop stronger social skills and relationships with others in the program.

Overall, riding lessons at Lets Ride TEP are a fun and effective way for individuals with disabilities to improve their physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being. Contact us to learn more about our program and how we can help you or someone you know.

Facilitation Sessions

In our facilitation sessions on and off the back, we offer a unique and powerful way for individuals to connect with horses and themselves on a deeper level. Our certified equine-assisted facilitators use a variety of techniques and exercises to guide participants through the process, helping them build emotional resilience, improve mental wellness, and increase self-confidence.

Our sessions can take place on the ground, without riding, and involve working with horses in a variety of activities such as grooming, leading, and lunging. These activities require focus, communication, and problem-solving skills. Or the sessions can take place on horseback, and involve a variety of activities such as trail riding, arena work, and obstacle courses. Which, in turn all these techniques can help participants develop self-awareness, self-regulation, and self-esteem.

Our facilitators are trained in a variety of equine-assisted methods, and we use a combination of different methods to create a safe and supportive environment for participants to explore their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors.

In addition to the immediate benefits of the facilitation sessions, such as increased self-awareness and emotional regulation, our sessions also provide lasting benefits for participants. They often report improved communication and relationship skills, increased self-confidence and self-esteem, and a greater sense of resilience and empowerment.

Whether you are looking to build emotional resilience, improve mental wellness, or increase self-confidence, our facilitation sessions can help you achieve your goals.

Horse Training

At our Horse Training services, we offer a comprehensive and holistic approach to training horses. Our seasoned trainers specialize in Natural Horsemanship techniques for both on-the-ground and on-the-back training, as well as restarting and breaking green horses.

We believe in working with horses in a way that is gentle, compassionate, and respectful of their natural instincts and behavior. Our trainers use a variety of techniques and exercises that help horses develop trust, confidence, and willingness to work with humans.

Our training services include ground work such as lunging, long-lining, and desensitization exercises to help horses become more responsive and respectful on the ground. On-the-back training includes training them under saddle at walk, trot, canter, and jumping, with a focus on building a strong foundation of skills that will benefit the horse in any discipline.

For green or untrained horses, our trainers use a step-by-step approach to ensure a positive and successful experience for both horse and rider. We believe that every horse is unique and requires an individualized training plan, so our trainers work closely with each horse to develop a program that suits their specific needs and temperament.

Whether you are looking to start a young horse, restart a horse with a troubled past, or improve your horse's performance in a specific discipline, our Horse Training services can help you achieve your goals.
